El Albergue Ollantaytambo es un hotel originalmente abierto en 1925 bajo el nombre de Hotel Santa Rosa. Rodeado de jardines y aves, ubicado dentro de la estación de tren de Ollantaytambo, contamos con 15 habitaciones, restaurante El Albergue, restaurante bar Chuncho, ubicado en la plaza de la ciudad, Café Mayu, así como una huerta orgánica, Torrefacción Mayu y Destilería Andina. Nuestras reservas cuentan con desayuno incluído, uso de biciletas y sauna, además ofrecemos servicios extras como organización de tours, masajes, transportes, box lunch y servicio de lavandería.

El Albergue se encuentra dentro de la estación del tren de Ollantaytambo, a 15 minutos caminando desde la Plaza de Ollantaytambo.

"What a phenomenal place to stay in Ollantaytambo. The staff is incredibly friendly, hospitable and professional. The breakfast was amazing! Homemade granola and yogurt, delicious fruit, lots of fresh herbs to choose from for tea. The setting is tranquil with such a variety of flowers everywhere. Even a sauna on site for further relaxing. The farm is incredible - don’t miss the panchamanca experience! We can’t wait to return one day hopefully soon!"

Lovely stay at the Albergue in Ollantaytambo. The staff was really helpful. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. It was a great jumping off point to explore Machu Picchu and also nearby sites in Ollantaytambo, Urubamba and on the route to Cusco. The breakfast was tasty.

Excelente experiencia!! Buen desayuno, excelente servicio, muy amable, ademas es un hotel muy ecológico con el reciclaje, no usan plásticos, tienen una finca, jardines hermosas con hamacas y también hasta reciclan comida y la dan a los animales. Estéticamente el hotel y los cuartos son muy bellos!

- Our driver picking us up from the airport upon arrival fell asleep and was not there when we landed. We ended up waiting an hour in the dark late at night when all other passengers had left. It was a bad note to start the trip off on and no one from the staff even apologized for the inconvenience. - Logistics with the front desk and reservations team was very challenging. I had a very hard time trying to book anything in advance and ended up booking our second driver from the hotel to our next hotel in Cusco through that other hotel because the experience with El Albergue was so difficult. - For a place that advertises vegetarian and vegan support, the staff did not understand the difference between the two. My husband and I are both vegan and I have a dairy allergy, and the staff were constantly giving us foods that were supposed to be vegan that had dairy or eggs in them. It was exhausting constantly explaining this, and I believe I was fed dairy at times as I felt sick during our stay. - I think our Machu Picchu trip was supposed to include a guide but no one told us this so we never got a guide??? Once again, lack of communication and coordination.

Beautiful and unique place. Loved the gardens, the artwork throughout, the farm. Dining was great, and lovely dining room. Very unique experience being right at the train station. Although a little confusing the first night we arrived as our driver dropped us up from the gate and just pointed the direction. Staff was great.

We had a wonderful one night stay at El Albergue. You can’t get more convenient than having the hotel entrance right where you disembark the train. The room was lovely, as were the grounds. The train does not run all night so noise was not an issue. The staff were all very professional and the food was amazing. Their organic farm, etc is a short walk from the main hotel and is definitely worth checking out. I wish we had booked two nights so we had more time to enjoy.

This hotel was wonderful. The staff at front desk were always very helpful. The resort is so pretty and the farm is amazing. I stayed in the casita and it was plenty of room and very comfortable. The pachamanca lunch experience was also very special. I was able to reheat my leftovers in the casita kitchen. The distillery and coffee tours were also very interesting: the Hammocks were a nice place to relax after a long day site seeing. The breakfast was also delicious and the best veggie omelette I think I’ve had. Thank you to the staff here. Oh and don’t forget to book the eucalyptus sauna. It’s so nice to sweat out sore muscles! I also love that they have the school on site and they donate $1 from every stay.

Beautiful charming hotel with very big and comfortable family rooms. The front of the hotel is at times very busy and noisy but the gardens in the backyard are very inviting. Dinner in the hotel restaurant is good but breakfast is very basic with limited choice. A good hotel to combine with a visit to Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes. Tip: close all doors to the bar and restaurant to avoid exhaust smell of the trains

Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos todo fue perfecto. El mejor lugar para quedarse antes de ir a Machu Pichu. El tren literalmente está al frente de el. Pero aparte de eso el hotel como tal es bellísimo y el servicio excelente.

The rooms were so filthy that we had to leave after the 1st night (we changed 2 rooms because there were no water in the 1st one). Public restrooms are cleaner than your bathrooms. I don't know when was the last time you cleaned the floor. It was disgusting! Also, the most of the electric sockets didn't work. It was impossible to use the heater because it stinks. Just horrible experience!

I understand hot water was limited, but we didn’t have any water (hot or cold) two times. Once when I was in the shower with shampoo in my hair. That was fixed and then it happened again. We were in Room 14.

Very comfortable rooms and beds, loved the grounds, and the food at the on site restaurant. Was disappointed that we did not initially get two beds as we had thought we booked, but they did correct that for the second half of our stay. Also was disappointed no one told us upon arrival that we needed to book the sauna in advanced.

El personal del albergue no me pareció nada agradable. Pareciera que trabajan por obligación, lo cual no es muy recomendable si es atención al público. Hay un gran contraste con los otros hospedajes que tuvimos porque los cusqueños sí suelen ser muy amables. Les comentamos que nuestro tren saldría a las 6:40 por ello pedimos puntualidad con el desayuno (no la tuvieron). Peroooo, el hotel es muy lindo y conveniente si tu tren sale de madrugada como el nuestro ya que se encuentra en la misma estación.

Gran proyecto, muchas gracias a su visionaria fundadora Wendy Weeks por compartir, contarnos su historia y recorrer el lugar, a su familia y a todo el personal que hizo esta estadía fuera tan especial. Regresar a Ollantaytambo y al valle sagrado después de 18 años junto a María José y hoy con nuestro hijo Pascal, celebrar mi cumpleaños y descasar en este increíble lugar será algo que recordaremos como familia por siempre!
